Success Stories
Safe Migration
In March 2022, the CSO community platform members in Wolaita Sodo held a community conversation on two thematic issues. The Sodo platform established and supported by British Counsel's implementing partner Emmanuel Development Association (EDA) is comprised of migrants, prospective migrants, and community representatives who are working to bring out grassroots voices on issues of migration of management. In the conversation, the platform members discussed ways of enhancing resilience through job creation in Wolaita Sodo to reduce irregular migration and ways to improve the operations of private employment agencies. Donation of Biomedical Equipment for Health Facilities
EDA has donated medical equipment’s for 10 Health Centers and 2 Hospitals in Oromo Special Zone of Amhara Region with the grant assistance of Children Believe.. The donation has been made to address the damaged and looted health facilities due to armed civil war and hostilities occurring in the region since few months ago. The donation mainly contains biomedical equipment’s of laboratory materials, electronics and biomechanical equipment’s of items with twenty types such as delivery coaches, delivery sets, patient beds, examination coaches, infusion stands, microscopes, stethoscopes, electrical vacuums, weighing scales, autoclaves and so on. Covid-19 support at Debrebirhan
Covid-19 support at Debrebirhan Emmanuel Development Association provided over 208,000-birr worth of food and hygiene inputs to 89 vulnerable families and their 196 children affected by COVID 19 in Debre Birhan on December 29, 2020. Among the 1000 targeted beneficiaries some of the families involved in the program have been affected by the COVID 19 epidemic and in collaboration with Menschen für Menschen Switzerland, this third round emergency support was provided to 89 families and their 196 children affected by the epidemic. Depending on the size of the family, the distribution was provided and for a family with one child will get 15 kilograms of bread flour, 1 liter of oil, 3 pics of pasta, 3 kilograms of rice, 3 kilograms of beans, 2 soap and a face mask was provided Read More: -
