On July 16, 2026, Emmanuel Development Association (EDA), Youth-Led Organizations (YLOs), and the Mastercard Foundation convened in Addis Ababa for the onboarding of the Windows of Hope: Sustainable Jobs for Youth project.
The meeting brought together the Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia Country Director, EDA Program Director, EDA senior staff, YLO representatives, and Foundation technical teams to align on the Foundation’s strategic direction, values, Young Africa Works roadmap, operational compliance requirements, and partnership expectations. The program included an overview of the project, YLO work plan presentations, and discussions on impact, inclusion, safeguarding, gender, legal, and finance.
In her opening remarks, Mefteha Tadesse, Country Director of the Mastercard Foundation Ethiopia, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to creating dignified employment opportunities for young people and highlighted its goal of having 35% of its partner portfolio comprised of Youth-Led Organizations by 2030.
