Economic Empowerment
EDA drives community prosperity by equipping youth, women, and vulnerable groups with vocational skills and business training. Through start-up capital, mentorship, and job placements, we help individuals build sustainable businesses and secure lasting livelihoods.
Economic Empowerment
Strengthening Livelihoods and Sustainable Income
Economic empowerment is a powerful driver of individual dignity, household resilience, and community prosperity. EDA’s economic empowerment programs equip youth, women, and vulnerable groups with the skills, resources, and support they need to achieve sustainable livelihoods. Through entrepreneurship development and vocational training, participants gain practical, market-relevant competencies. Access to start-up capital and revolving funds enables them to translate these skills into viable businesses. EDA further strengthens outcomes through on-the-job technical support, mentorship, and coaching, while also creating pathways to wage employment through job placement services. Both group and individual income-generating activities are supported, ensuring that economic opportunity reaches the most marginalized members of society.
Strategic Pillars of Action
To break the cycle of poverty, EDA implements a market-led intervention model that bridges the gap between potential and opportunity. Our strategy focuses on equipping youth and women with the technical tools, financial access, and entrepreneurial mindset required to drive local economic development and ensure long-term community resilience.
We provide market-oriented vocational training in specialized technical fields, enabling unemployed youth to acquire industry-standard skills that bridge the gap between education and sustainable employment.
Through entrepreneurship mentorship and seed capital provision, we empower young innovators to launch and manage their own small businesses, fostering long-term economic independence and resilience.
By facilitating access to saving and credit associations, we help young people secure the financial resources needed to scale their enterprises and achieve financial stability.
We promote climate-smart agricultural practices and modern farming techniques, equipping rural youth with the tools to build profitable, environment-friendly businesses within the green economy sector.
