Official Launch of Protection & GBV Life-Saving Response Project
We are pleased to announce the launch of Emmanuel Development Association (EDA)’s 11-month Protection and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Life-Saving Support Project in Efratana Gidim and Ataye Woredas, North Shewa Zone, Amhara Region.
Implemented with funding from the Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund (EHF), the project aims to address urgent protection concerns and strengthen access to quality services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable host communities.
Key interventions include:

•  Survivor-centered GBV case management and Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)
• Cash assistance for protection and dignity kit distribution
• Strengthening the One-Stop Centre and Women & Girls Safe Space (WGSS)
• Enhancement of protection referral pathways
• Operationalization of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) mechanisms

  Project Reach:

• Direct beneficiaries: 18,197 individuals
• Indirect beneficiaries: More than 42,000 people through strengthened protection and service delivery systems

The launch event brought together community representatives, government stakeholders, and service providers, reaffirming a shared commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and promoting safety, dignity, inclusion, and psychosocial well-being.
