EDA Launches SCROL 2.0: Safe Minds Online
With the generous support of Terre des Hommes Netherlands, Emmanuel Development Association (EDA) has officially launched SCROL 2.0: Safe Minds Online in Debre Berhan, Dessie, and Kombolcha. As a child-focused organization, EDA is committed to creating a safer digital environment where children can learn, interact, and thrive free from online violence, abuse, exploitation, and other digital risks.
SCROL 2.0 strengthens the capacity of children, parents, caregivers, schools, community leaders, and government institutions to promote online safety, digital literacy, and child safeguarding. The initiative empowers local communities to take a leading role in protecting children and fostering a culture of shared responsibility for their wellbeing.
Through collaborative partnerships and community-led action, SCROL 2.0 aims to deliver lasting impact by enhancing child protection systems, promoting safe digital practices, and ensuring that the best interests of every child remain at the center of Ethiopia’s growing digital landscape.
Duration: 10 months
The project addresses mental health factors that increase children’s vulnerability to Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSE) by strengthening protective environments at family, peer, and community levels—both online and offline.
